TECHNICIAN/FABRICATOR JOB DESCRIPTION:


The majority of the Technician/Fabricator’s work will be spent participating in repairs, fabrication and maintenance of client’s vehicles. A standard 40-hour workweek applies. Some areas of the job site may be hazardous so protective gear should be worn when appropriate.


JOB DUTIES:

-Build, assemble and maintain custom and classic cars

-Fabricate or machine custom parts as needed

-Properly document all information about vehicles during repair or build process in Shop-Ware and keep accurate time clocks

-Ensure all vehicles are safely moved and positioned on all lift equipment.

-Maintain a personal tool set.

-Accurately diagnose issues with client’s vehicles.

-Attend weekly shop meetings.

-Work with Office Manager and Foreman to procure parts needed and create estimates. 

-Keep detailed records of all parts, fluids and time for each project in Shop-Ware.

-Maintain a clean and safe shop environment

-Assist other technicians and staff when needed.


SKILLS NEEDED: 

-Strong organizational skills.

-Knowledge of the proper order of operations in the restoration process

-Thrive in an autonomous work environment.

-Take direction and work collaboratively with supervisors and team members.

-Extensive automotive systems knowledge

-Strong familiarity with aftermarket parts

-Exhaust system design and fabrication

-Brake and fuel system design and fabrication

-Sheet metal fabrication

-Manual mill and lathe operation

-Complete vehicle wiring

-Proficient at welding of aluminum, stainless steel and mild steel, both TIG and MIG.

-Ability to work independently and demonstrate good follow through on tasks with little to no supervision.

-Computer skills to include the ability to use cloud based shop management software, labor guides, parts ordering, Google Suite and efficient search engine use.

-Ability to lift up to 50lbs, remain standing/kneeling/bending for large portions of the day

You are a proactive and creative solution finder, and work efficiently. You have a passion for the custom automotive industry with broad knowledge of the aftermarket automotive industry. You are an energetic person who doesn’t mind wearing multiple hats and is able to work in a dynamic, fast paced environment while maintaining our high standard for customer service and workmanship.
